Forty years ago, two movies about aliens hit the theatres only a few weeks apart. While one was about a likeable little alien and a huge success, the other initially flopped. Today though, John Carpenter's "The Thing" has become a classic. Not only the very advanced and realistic effects for the time, but also Kurt Russel's portrayal of the heroic MacReady, make for a suspenseful horror movie.
The word action figure hits the nail on the head for R.J. MacReady, or rather the alien with the flamethrower. The slightly hot-headed helicopter pilot, who together with eleven other men hunts an alien on the research station Outpost 31 in Antarctica, is virtually the definition of an action hero. Whether it's explosions, helicopter manoeuvres or simply saving humanity – MacReady is ready for it.
This "The Thing" MacReady Action Figure comes in a display box with a large window that looks great on the shelf. But since it is movable, you can of course act out all the movie scenes with it.
