Sometimes it's the smallest, most inconspicuous things that have a big impact on our lives – like those little bags for keeping electronics, leather or certain foods dry. You've probably seen them many times and even held them in your hand. But you probably didn't know how ingenious the little balls hidden inside are. Just one gram has a surface area of up to 800 square kilometres! Because of this and because they are hygroscopic (water-attracting), they can absorb large amounts of moisture. Afterwards, it is even possible to dry and use them again. That's why countless tips for other uses are circulating on the internet, such as preventing silver jewellery from tarnishing or soaking up the smell of sweat in your sports bag.

As nerds, we would like to appreciate such miracles of science even more. That's why we've designed the Silica Gel Cushion, an exact replica of the little desiccant bags. Since the silica gel pellets would have been both impractical and uncomfortable as a filling, the cover contains a normal, fluffy pillow that can be removed before washing your cushion case at 30 °C. So although it is no longer suitable for protecting your hardware from condensation, it makes quite an eye-catcher on the couch!

By the way, if you should ever receive a package with water damage, you can at least use the cushion to dry the moisture that comes out of your eyes ;).
