Description: New Model M Buckling Spring Keyboard

  • Reissue of the IBM Model M in a more modern design.
  • USB or PS2 connector available.
  • With Buckling Spring key desing.
  • Available in german or US layout.

For many people the IBM Model M is still one of the best keyboards on the market. The nice clicking sound while typing, the iconic beige colour and the sturdiness, especially frequent writers swear by the keyboard. Some so much that they buy used ones from the 80s and 90s. But not everybody thinks a tasteful beige is particularly pretty and maybe an original Model M is a bit big for the workspace.
Precisely for this there is a solution: the New Model M by Unicomp.

The New Model M is a mechanical keyboard which is inspired by the design and build of the original Model M. It is however a bit smaller than the original and available in a modern black with either grey or grey and white keys. But no worries, what made the Model M so popular and successful is still inside the New Model M, the Buckling Springs. What makes this mechanic so special is the spring that is build in the keys that bends when said key is pressed. As a result you get thet distinctive clicking and a tactile feedback that immediately lets you know that the impuls has been transmitted. Finally no more aggressive pressing down of keys to make sure that the letter really appears…

But there is one advantage the New Model M has unlike its original counterpart: you can order ist with a USB connector. As chic as a retro keyboard from the 80s or 90s is it has one downside, because it is no longer compatible with many modern PCs or laptops. Thanks to the USB connector thats no issue with the New Model M. But true retro fans also get their money's worth, because you can get the keyboard with the good old PS2 connector as well.
And of course the Windows key is there as well.

Either way you can test your coworkers and roomates nerves alike with this iconic keyboard ;).
