Not to mention entertaining how people imagined the year 2022 just a couple of decades ago: flying cars in every garage, space ships, androids that are indistinguishable from humans ... this and much more all promised to us by the science-fiction books from our childhood. A quick peek out of the window reveals that almost none of the promised wonders actually exist yet. Most of us mere mortals still have to fight our way through traffic jams on the roads, no human has gone further than the moon and the only convincing android used to be governor of California ...
Oh wait, one thing did come true, after all! As the "I made it to 2022" t-shirt shows, we did manage to get a dystopian government that tries to invade every aspect of our private lives. While it might not have reached 1984-levels, the actions of the NSA and the rest of the intelligence community are highly disconcerting, to say the least. Big Brother is watching you!
