Description: NASA Rocket Lava Lamp

  • Large lava lamp in a retro design, with the logo and red, white and blue colour scheme of NASA

  • The power is supplied by an enclosed cable with an EU adapter

On April 12th 1981, the first Space Shuttle mission was making its way into space – and into the future. In the previous decade, there had already been grand, if not utopian, plans for commercial space travel, and in the 1980's USA, space hype was prominent. Although reality couldn't exactly keep up, the wide-spread interest and the belief in science were pretty impressive nonetheless. You can commemorate this atmosphere of excitement and change among the space geeks and NASA nerds now, approximately four decades later: with this gnarly lava lamp, as it would have been called in 80's America.

This NASA Rocket Lava Lamp, measuring 50cm, is reminiscent of the American space hype of the 80's, from the red cap, to the red and blue design to the three feet of the lamp that are based on the three tail fins of a typical rocket. Of course, the officially NASA logo also has a special place on the lamp. The enclosed light bulb creates the lava effect of the lamp while the power is supplied by a cable that is also enclosed. The lamp comes in single parts, but can be easily assembled by hand in a minute.

With this rocket, you can travel (in time) without having to move! Perfect for all 80's nostalgics, space geeks and NASA fans.
