When the Hungarian Erno Rubik invented the Rubik's Cube in 1974, it was said that he wanted to train students in spatial thinking. But we suspect he just wanted to put the patience of all humanity to the test!
By the early 1980s, almost every child on the planet had a Rubik's Cube! Some were able to solve it, while others were so desperate that they ultimately scraped off the stickers to... er, 'solve' it! What kind of solution did you prefer?
By rotating the different parts it is possible to change the positions of the particular cubes. The big cube itself is solved when each side is the same colour. Nowadays, instructions to solve the cube with unusual names, such as "God's algorithm", can be found online, but more fun (and despair!!) comes from trying to solve the cube on your own. Come on, don't cheat!
The Magic Cube is a really great toy for breaks, while traveling and during waiting times. Patience is the key, don't forget!
